      Cordell Walker is the protagonist of the TV-series, as Texas Ranger Sgt. Cordell Walker, a former Marine Captain with an elite recon unit and a modern-day Ranger who believes in the Code of the Old West. He is a decorated Vietnam vet and a martial arts expert. He lived with his parents John and Elizabeth Firewalker, until the age of 12, when they were senselessly murdered by a trio of white.         The Texas Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) applied to sponsor a specialty license plate featuring a Confederate battle flag from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Board. The Board denied the plate because, at least in part, “public comments ha[d] shown that many members of the general public find the design offensive.   In Walker v. Texas Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Inc. 1 a closely divided Court upheld the decision of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Board (“Board”) to reject the respondents’ proposed license plate design featuring a confederate flag. 2 The respondents argued that, in light of the wide range of specialty license plate.

      The regiment was part of Walker's Texas Division, and its service during the war was completely west of the Mississippi River, primarily in Louisiana and Arkansas. From March 10 to Ap , the regiment took part in operations against Union Gen. Nathaniel Banks 's Red River campaign in Louisiana.
